Clean finish on 101 Pigeon 20

Me again with a question about my 101 20 Pigeon grade. The wood is very dark and I'm looking to find a way to remove whatever is clouding the finish. I'm guessing it's about 1975 ish mfg. Anybody know what these were finished with? Oil based, poly or something else. I found the Renaissance cleaner and wax set at an auction but the cleaner has lost some/most of it's moisture content and is very grainy instead of a fine polish sort. I'm thinking I can put a few drops of mineral spirits in a small cup and add/stir in the cleaner until my eye says that looks about right. Considering it works OK, what should I use to refinish? Anything I should be careful of? I don't want to harm this old girl. Thanks

Probably lacquer finish, so clouding is usually buildup rather than damage. I’d clean lightly and re-wax before considering any refinishing or solvents that could alter or harm the original surface.

That's basically what I'm considering but the question is clean what with? The wood is in pristine condition; no dents or dings just dark. I can't believe Kodensa would use something like varnish. More likely Tru Oil or boiled linseed oil or something along that line. I still think the Renaissance cleaner w/ some mineral spirits and a non abrasive rag would do what I want without being too aggressive. The product Timberluxe video(s) say "START W/ 100 GRIT SANDPAPER"! I don't have the nerve for that unless a refinish is in the cards or am I just overthinking this? Agent Orange neuropathy of the hands precludes my getting too trick and fancy with this.
