I have a 1873 Winchester saddle ring carbine 44-40. The stock is 14.5", it has sling swivels that appear to be factory (the front swivel is a component of the front barrel band) and it has a metal end cap on the forearm. I felt it was a special order gun but the letter from Cody Wy. didn't indicate that it was. I send an email to Cody and ask if whether or not they could state that sometimes that information just wasn't there. No reply. Any ideas, is there an Winchester expert who could give an opinion. I could see the sling swivel being added as an after market and perhaps a longer than the usually 13" length of pull stock but the metal end cap would require a different forearm.
